‘Big midfielder’ Sergei Milinkovic-Savic (28) wears the Saudi Arabia Al-Hilal uniform.
Al-Hilal officially announced his 메이저놀이터순위 recruitment through the club’s social media on the 13th (Korean time), saying, “Milinkovic-Savic has come from the Italian Eagle. He now represents the ‘Asian Leader’.”
Al-Hilal added, “The contract period is three years, until the 2025-2026 season. Milinkovic-Savic will join the team at the Australian pre-season camp after passing the medical test.” He wears number 22.
According to European football transfer market expert Fabricio Romano, the transfer fee is 40 million euros (approximately 57 billion won). Milinkovic-Savic’s contract with Lazio expires next year. However, as many teams showed interest, Al-Hilal matched the 40 million euros Lazio demanded.
Milinkovic-Savic is a Serbian national team midfielder who has commanded the Lazio midfield for the past eight seasons. He joined Lazio from Genk in Belgium in 2015 and quickly rose to the starting lineup. With a height of 191cm, Milinkovic-Savic has grown into a complete midfielder, boasting not only a vigorous amount of activity but also an offensive talent.
Several big clubs had their eyes on him from before. Even last summer, news came that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur wanted Milinkovic-Savic. Nevertheless, Lazio kept him strong, and Milinkovic-Savic played a big role in the 2022-2023 season, scoring 11 goals and 8 assists in the season.
The interest continued this summer as well. Several teams, including Juventus, AC Milan, Arsenal, and Chelsea, were aiming for him, and Paris Saint-Germain, which Lee Kang-in recently joined, is also known to have approached him.
Milinkovic-Savic’s choice was to go to Saudi Arabia, where he could hit the salary jackpot. According to Italy’s ‘La Repubblica’ and ‘Goal.com’, he will earn 20 million euros (about 28.5 billion won) a year from Al-Hilal. In other words, he found the reason he desperately wanted to go to Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Lazio owner Claudio Rotito said: “I tried to hold on to Milinkovic-Savic, but he said he wanted to leave, what would I do? I’m on good terms with him, but in the end the player decides his own life. He begged me to let him go. “If he goes to Saudi Arabia, his motivation will come from money. But you have to ask him directly,” he said.
As a result, Al-Hilal succeeded in building a powerful midfield by embracing Milinkovic-Savic. Previously, Al-Hilal brought Wolverhampton captain Ruben Neves and embraced Kalidou Koulibaly, who played for Chelsea.
Recently, Al-Hilal has been aggressively investing with the Saudi National Wealth Fund (PIF). They are not satisfied here and are also pursuing the signing of Bernardo Silva (Manchester City). It is known that Al-Hilal plans to offer a transfer fee of 70 million euros (approximately 99.7 billion won) and an annual salary of 50 million euros (approximately 71.2 billion won).
