Göregi Groser (39), who commanded the V-League with the “German bomber,” took on the Korean stage again.
The Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) announced on the 30th that it will conduct a 2023 foreign player tryout in Turkiye from May 6th.
The tryout, which was conducted non-face-to-face in the aftermath of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) for the past three years, will be held face-to-face for the first time in four years since Toronto, Canada in 2019.
The tryouts in Istanbul, Turkey will be held from 6 to 8 May for men and from 11 to 13 May for women.
86 men and 55 women applied for this tryout. After the evaluation of each club, the list of the top 40 men and women invited to the tryout will be confirmed.
Players who played an active part in the V-League in the 2022-23 season can apply for a tryout within 7 days after the end of the championship match. The final list, including them, will be announced on April 12th.
A large number of players who experienced the V-League threw a challenge.
Yosbai Hernandez, who played an active role at OK Financial Group, Hyundai Capital, and Korean Air, and Kyle Russell, who used strong serve at KEPCO and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, are aiming to re-enter the V-League.
Grozer, who earned a reputation as a ‘German bomber’ at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance in the 2015-16 season, also accepted an application to participate.
At the time, Groser showed off his superpowers, ranking first in scoring (1074 points) and serving (0.83 per set). In particular, on January 17, 2016, he poured 15 serve aces against KB Insurance, setting the record for the most serves in one individual game in the V-League.
In addition, Leo Andrić, Dowdi Okello, Artur Woodris and Arpad Barrotti are awaiting nominations from the club.
In the women’s division, Yasmin Bedart is trying to recover from an injury.
Yasmin signed a new contract for the 2021-22 season, serving as a solver for Hyundai E&C. However, he only played 13 games in the 2022-23 season due to a back injury, and was eventually replaced by Ibone Montaño.
Yasmin, who has strong offense and serve, is a resource that clubs can pay attention to if her physical condition is good. 먹튀검증
Helen Russo, who played for Hyundai E&C in the 2020-2021 season, is also challenging to enter the V-League again.
Four players who played in the V-League this season, including Yelena Mrazenovic (Heungkuk Life Insurance), Catherine Bell (Korea Expressway Corporation), Moma Basoko (GS Caltex), and Dali Santana (IBK Industrial Bank), have also applied for participation.
Meanwhile, Anna Lazareva (former IBK Industrial Bank), Valentina Diouf (former KGC Ginseng Corporation), and Kelsey Payne (former Korea Expressway Corporation), who had high expectations, gave up participating in the tryout.
