The quarterfinals for the Golden Lion have come to an end. Sunlin Ingo and Busan Go will meet in the final.
On April 25, Sunlin Ingo and Busan Go won their respective quarterfinal games of the 77th National High School Baseball Tournament and Weekend League Wangjoong Wangjeon (co-hosted by The Korea Baseball Organization, Sports Donga, and the Korea Baseball Softball Association) at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, to advance to the finals.
Neither school was initially considered a favorite to win the title, so this matchup was quite a treat to watch.
Seolin Ingo had a tough time against Daegu Sangwon Go. With their ace Kim Tae-wan already in play, they had to face Daegu Sangwon Go’s ace, Kim Sang-hyun. However, they managed to pull off an 11-7 victory over Daegu Sangwongo based on their batting focus.
Both teams battled hard from the start. After Daegu SangwonGo scored five runs in the first three innings, Sunlining responded with three runs of their own. The game was decided in the fourth inning, when Sunlininigo scored five runs on just two hits while drawing five walks. No. 6 Seo Ji-min led the team with three hits. For Daegu Sangwon Go, the decision to use ace Shin Sang-hyun as the fourth pitcher to manage pitch counts turned out to be a ‘handshake’.
The second pitcher for Sunliningo, Kim Min-seong, also gave up five runs in 6 1/3 innings, but the team was able to get the win with the help of their bats.
Facing Gangneung Go, who were held in check by Cho “Jotani” Dae-hyun, Busan Go scored a run in the second inning and cruised to a 6-1 victory. With ace Won Sang-hyun unavailable, Sung Young-tak also struggled due to pitch count restrictions, but Cho Min-woo, Kim Dong-hoo, and Cheon Gyeom held Gangneunggo’s bats to two hits in a dramatic finish. Leadoff hitter Yeon Jun-won led the way with three hits and three RBIs.
The two finalists will have a full day off on the 26th and will play the final game on the 27th at 10:00. SPOTV will broadcast the game 메이저사이트.
