The Japanese national soccer team, led by head coach Hajime Moriyasu, will play an A-match against Colombia in March.
According to Japanese soccer media , on the 6th, the Japan Football Association (JFA) officially announced that it would face off against Colombia in the 2023 Kirin Challenge Cup friendly match scheduled for March 28 at Yodoko Sakura Stadium in Osaka. This match is the first A match caught after Moriyasu’s contract renewal.
Japan also plans to hold an A-match at Tokyo National Stadium on March 24th. The opponent for this match has not yet been caught. However, as some have raised, the confrontation with the South American team is caught, and the future announcement is also drawing attention.
If Japan and Korea jointly promote the so-called ‘South American team invitation package’ while looking for an opponent for an A match in March, there is a possibility that Colombia will become a confrontational opponent with Korea. For example, after Colombia faces Korea on March 24th, it may be possible to schedule a trip to Japan for a match on the 28th.
