Korea’s national breaking team is preparing for the Hangzhou Asian Games in September.
(On July 26, the 꽁머니사이트 Korea Dance Sports Federation (KFD) said, “The Korean National Breaking Team will depart for Hangzhou, China on July 29 to compete in the ‘WDSF Asia Breaking Championships’ from July 1-2.”
The tournament is a test event that will be held at the Hangzhou Asian Games in September and October, using the same venues and facilities as the athletes’ village, including accommodation and dining.
It will also feature a World Series-like point level, giving athletes the opportunity to earn the most ranking points of any World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) event. The first and second place finishers in each category will advance directly to the Olympic Qualifier Series, a qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, regardless of their accumulated ranking points.
Korea will be represented by Kim Heon-woo (Wing), Park In-soo (Kill), Jeon Ji-ye (Freshbella), and Kwon Sung-hee (Starry), along with Kim Hong-yeol (Hong10) and Kim Ye-ri (Yell), who were selected after winning the second edition of the 2023 Breaking K Series.
On the first day of the tournament, the round of 32 will be held from the pre-selection, and on the second day, the round of 16 and final will be held in a round robin format.
Korean athletes will qualify directly for the Olympics if they win the 2023 WDSF World Championships in Belgium in September or the Hangzhou Asian 토토꽁포인트 Games. If they do not win, they will have to advance to the Olympic Qualifier Series by finishing in the top 10 of their respective events or in the top 14 of the WDSF ranking points.
The Olympic Qualifier Series is the final selection for the 10 Olympic tickets for men and women, and is held over three events in the first half of the following year.
