NBA Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert was kicked home after punching a teammate on the bench.
Gobert punched teammate Kyle Anderson in the chest in the final game of the 2022-2023 NBA regular season against the New Orleans Pelicans held at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA on the 10th (Korean time).
Gobert, who was arguing with Anderson on the bench during the second quarter operation time, couldn’t stand it and threw a fist when his emotions were intensified.
When Anderson, also angry, tried to run at Gobert, Minnesota players and staff rushed to stop the fight.
After the uproar, the Minnesota team announced that “Gobert is out of the rest of the game today.” US ESPN reported that the club had sent Gobert home.
“Gobert’s behavior is unacceptable. We will be dealing with the case internally,” said Minnesota club president Tim Connelly.
Gobert posted an apology on social media after the game.
“Emotions got ahead of me. Whatever I was told, I shouldn’t have reacted that way,” he wrote.
Mike Conley, who plays for Minnesota, said Gobert sent an apology text to the team’s group chat room as well.
Minnesota defeated New Orleans 113-108 that day and secured 8th place in the Western Conference (42-40) and advanced to the play-in tournament.
In the play-in tournament, they compete against the 7th place Los Angeles (LA) Lakers (43-39) to advance to the playoffs (PO).
However, despite the pleasant victory, Minnesota could not laugh at the overlapping bad news.
Minnesota lost forward Jayden McDaniels to a futile injury prior to Gobert and Anderson’s feud.
McDaniels, who was replaced at the end of the first quarter, hit the tunnel wall hard while heading to the locker room and was unable to play the rest of the game. 메이저사이트
